A sponsorship is a regular support for a child.

The children featured on this page are already part of the CVOVS support program in Uganda. Each of the children has special challenges in terms of education and needs support from us to successfully overcome these challenges. We hope that as the clubs grow, the number of students eligible for support will continue to grow so that we can help as many children as possible.

Example calculation for a sponsorship:

1st class: approx. €450 per year in school costs (school fees, materials, school uniform, examination fees if

                                                                                  applicable)

approx. 150 € per school term (4 months)

                approx. 50 € per month

10th grade: approx. 1,500 € per year in school costs (school fees, materials, school uniform, class trip,

Final examination fees, boarding school costs such as                                                                                             food, Accommodation etc.)

approx. 500 € per school term (4 months)

                    approx. 167 € per month

Of course, you can also become a sponsor as a married couple, as a family or as a group of friends! This way, the costs can be shared and you can support a child together.

Moses sent us his own text:

"My name is Magezi Moses [from] Kibiito, Bunyangabu, Uganda.
I entered Bunjojo Elementary School in 2006 [...] and walked a mile from home to school every day. I managed to finish elementary school in 2012, despite all the problems I had regarding school fees, housing and most importantly, the lack of lunch at school. In 2013 I attended Rwimi Secondary School [...]. For six years, from first through sixth grade, I walked to school, covering a distance of seven kilometers.

I finished high school in 2018, but unfortunately I missed out on government funding and had to work during the holidays and take simple jobs for two years. It was only in 2022 that I was admitted to the National Teachers' College Kaliro for a Diploma in Education Secondary with the help of the organization CVOVS.

I am still following this course although I am struggling with tuition fees as sometimes my parents cannot afford money for tuition fees as they also have to take care of my siblings. I feel like I have a lot to do to provide for my family [...] and I can only do that by getting an education [...]. [...] I believe that one day I will achieve my goals and I will make it with a helping hand [...]."

3. Profile

Name : Nancy

Level : 5th grade

Family Situation : Nancy's parents have both died and the girl lives with a guardian. However, she does not have a regular income herself, so that Nancy's education is jeopardized by the lack of school fees.

Her wish : Nancy wants to be a teacher so that she can help her siblings and later her own children with their schoolwork.

CVOVS : Since the beginning of 2022, Nancy has been supported in financing her school costs. The aim is to secure this support in the long term in order to take away the fear of the student for her education.

4. Profile

Name : Doreen

Level : 1st class

Family situation : Doreen has ten siblings but only one parent. Her mother is therefore not able to cover the school costs for all the children every school year.

Her wish : Doreen is lame in her left arm, which is why she uses her right arm to write. Since Doreen has not yet received adequate treatment, her right arm trembles severely when performing fine motor tasks and she finds it difficult, for example, to write longer sentences. Doreen therefore wants other learning methods that adapt to her impairment.

CVOVS : Our goal is on the one hand to give Doreen the opportunity to have her arm treated and on the other hand to secure the financing of her education in the long term by providing school fees and alternative learning materials.
